Logitech G432 Gaming Headset Review

These days everyone needs a good gaming headset. Obviously if you play games a headset is essential for online play. But anyone can really benefit from a good gaming headset. They are the perfect accessory for online meetings, WiFi phone calls and even just to dictate to word processing programs. The Logitech G432 Gaming Headset is a great one to consider.

The G432 is a standard gaming headset. It is an over ear style and has an attached microphone. The ear cups have 50mm drivers and the mic has noise cancelling technology. That’s about as far as I am going to dive into the tech specs. All other specs are pretty standard for all gaming headsets.

The head band and ear cups are both covered with approximately ½” thick memory foam. The foam is nice and soft and makes the headphones very comfortable. The foam is covered with faux leather. This makes them very easy to clean. I prefer cloth coverings because I find the faux leather gets a little hot. That is just a personal preference though.

The headset only comes in black. The only color is a ring around the ear cups that is bright blue and a silver Logitech logo on the ear cups. They look really good in my opinion.

Features

The size adjusts easy and clicks into position very well. The microphone folds down and positions itself well in front of your mouth. It flips up easily as well which mutes the mic. This is a very handy feature if you need to quickly mute the mic. The only control is a volume control on the back of the left ear cup.

The headphones connect in two different ways. You can connect them with a 3.5mm audio jack or via USB with the attached adapter. The benefit to using the USB is that you will get the ability to have 7.1 channel audio. The cord is 6 ft. long so it is more than long enough to use in most situations.

Another handy feature is that the ear cups can rotate 90 degrees. This makes the headphones pretty flat which allows them to be easily put in a back pack. They do not fold like a lot of headphones but the flattening option works well too.

Performance

When it comes to performance the G432 hold up well. The sound quality from the ear cups is pretty great. It probably will not hold up compared to the most expensive headsets but it shouldn’t be expected too. These are a budget headset and for most people they won’t even notice any difference. The bass is nice and deep, the mid range sounds crisp and the treble is clean. The only distortion that I heard was when they were turned up to max volume. Even then it was minimal. Also they would be uncomfortably loud at max so you shouldn’t turn them up that high anyways.

The mic performs great. The sound is very clear and the noise cancelling does a pretty good job of keeping your conversation uncluttered. It isn’t perfect though. The mic will pick up some other conversations in the room but they will be quiet and not very distracting. The flip up mute function works perfectly and instantly.

Conclusion

If you are looking for a good gaming headset you should check out the Logitech G432. They have all of the features you would expect and a few that you may not. They sound good, the mic is clear and they are inexpensive. These headphones will be more than enough for almost anybody no matter what you use them for.
