Design
The VicTsing mouse is very ergonomically designed. It has a nice curve that is very similar to many other mice that I have tried from other manufacturers. It is also pretty small. So if you like a larger mouse it may feel a bit too small for you. I believe the size will be good for most people though. The mouse is powered by a single AA battery. According to the manufacturer this battery should last approx. 15 months.
The mouse itself is plastic like all other mice. The top surface has a nice, matte, satin feel to it. There is a thumb rest on one side and a nice groove for your pinky finger on the other. The thumb rest and the scroll wheel both have a rubberized grip so the mouse feels very good when you are using it.
The mouse, obviously, has your standard left and right buttons on top. There are also two buttons just above the thumb rest that you use for forward or back while web browsing. The scroll wheel is also used as your middle mouse button. There is one other button below the scroll wheel but this is used to adjust the DPI of the mouse.
On the bottom the mouse has four nice pads so it slides very easily. The bottom also has the battery compartment, on/off switch and the storage area for the receiver. The mouse also comes in seven different colors. So you should have no issue finding the color that you want.
Tech Specs
The VicTsing wireless mouse uses 2.4Ghz to communicate with your computer. It uses an included nano receiver that is pretty small. It isn’t the smallest receiver that I have ever seen but it is definitely small enough to be left in your computer and not be in the way. The receiver is rated to work for up to 33 ft. away.
The mouse uses a laser sensor to track your movement. The DPI of the mouse can be adjusted to 5 different levels. This is a very nice feature especially while gaming. Some games you may want very fast movement so you can select a high DPI. Others you may want more precision so you can select a lower DPI for those. You select the DPI that you want by pressing the button below the scroll wheel. It will flash to let you know what level it is at. The levels that you can select are 800, 1200, 1600, 2000 and 2400. This same button can actually be used to adjust the polling rate as well. It can be adjusted to 125Hz or 250Hz.
Use
To use this mouse you just pop in the battery, plug in the receiver and turn it on using a switch on the bottom. I suggest switching this to AUTO. When it is on this setting the mouse will automatically turn off when your computer is turned off or the receiver is disconnected. The mouse will also turn off after 8 minutes of inactivity. According to the manufacturer this mouse works with Windows, Mac and Linux. On Mac the forward and back buttons do not work. I use Ubuntu linux and it works great for me.
The mouse feels good and tracks well. As I mentioned earlier it is slightly on the small side so it feels a little small for me. I have relatively large hands though. My son and wife both think the size is just right. The DPI button works very well. It is easy to switch between the different levels and you can definitely notice the difference.
The buttons are not silent. They have a nice click sound to them. They feel good and are not squishy or too stiff either. The manufacturer says that the buttons are rated for 5,000,000 clicks as well so they won’t die quickly.
Conclusion
The VicTsing Wireless Mouse (model D-09) is a great, affordable mouse. It tracks very well and the buttons all feel very good. The adjustable polling rate and DPI setting are great for gaming and the battery lasts a very long time. If you are looking for a mouse for every day computing or online gaming you can’t go wrong with the VicTsing Wireless Mouse.
